The Vice President of Product Management will collaborate with senior management to define the long term product plan and develop the overall product strategy, while serving as the subject matter expert, product champion and strong customer advocate in the development and deployment of our world class business services and product offerings. The Vice President of Product Management will be responsible for managing the day–to-day prioritizations of the product management team and will lend his or her expertise and knowledge base with customer insights and competitive practices to lead in the design of new and innovative products and business service as well as the improvement of existing products that exceed customer expectations.
The Vice President of Product Management will be responsible for managing the existing Product Management team and collaborating with all internal teams to assess product development and enhancement opportunities. The Vice President of Product Management will conduct or oversee competitive research and technology assessments, develop market research strategy and revenue estimates, formulate recommendations to the development and implementation teams, and provide evaluation and support post-deployment in order to ensure that the short and long term product plan is aligned with business needs.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A demonstrated passion for and understanding of product management.
- Bachelor degree in computer science, communications, business or closely related discipline required. MBA degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years experience in web product management (including 3 years at an executive level), with solid track record of developing and launching successful products in an internet-based (Web 2.0) and/or social network environment.
- Experience in defining, building, and launching a successful new product line.
- Experience with software development lifecycles (SDLC).
- Demonstrated experience in translating customer and business requirements, communicating those into an innovative product/feature vision, and rallying the execution team around that vision to deliver on-time and on-budget.
- Passionate about understanding the evolution of social media, social networking, mobile communications and similar in the development and delivery of great products.
- Ability to identify and exceed customer/user experience expectations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail. Strong analytic skills and the ability to be strategic for future planning needs.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams. Experience with market research, competitive analysis, prototype testing, and usability testing.
- Knowledge of and experience in writing business requirements documents (BRDs) and collecting data and information.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with functional requirements documents (FRDs) and data collection methods.
