" By offering them a private cloud, these customers can realize the benefits of our proven solutions and 24x7 monitoring and support, all without sacrificing complete control of their communities and business data. "
December 22, 2009 - Neighborhood America now enables customers to leverage its award-winning Software as a Service (SaaS) platform in a private cloud environment. While the company’s solutions are primarily delivered through its own virtualized cloud, the private cloud option now provides large enterprise customers with the ability to realize the benefits of SaaS while maintaining control over their own private IT environment.
As adoption rates demonstrate, SaaS-based cloud computing is ideally suited for most commercial and government agencies due to its lower cost of ownership and ease of deployment (when compared to on-premise IT models). However, perceived security and privacy risks may prevent enterprises that are subject to strict regulations--finance, health care, and many government agencies--from realizing the benefits of SaaS and shared cloud hosting.
To meet this essential market need, Neighborhood America (soon to be known as INgage Networks) is now offering a private cloud option, which enables customers – including one of the world’s premier financial institutions – to gain the benefits of SaaS within an environment they can control.
“Private clouds are perfect for those enterprises that want to leverage the benefits of SaaS and cloud computing, but - due to internal standards and policies - are hesitant to move to a shared cloud environment,” said Neighborhood America’s CIO and VP of Technology, Jim Haughwout. “By offering them a private cloud, these customers can realize the benefits of our proven solutions and 24x7 monitoring and support, all without sacrificing complete control of their communities and business data.”
Gartner Research recently reported that for large enterprises, private cloud services will be required for many years, perhaps decades. Recognizing that private cloud services are a stepping stone to future public cloud services, Tom Bittman, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner stated in a recent press release, “Making these changes sooner rather than later will help enterprises to take better cloud sourcing decisions and potentially make for an easier transition to public cloud computing.”
