Are you SOX compliant?
INgage Networks is a private company and is not directly subject to SOX regulations. However, many of our clients are and we have regularly worked with clients to provide audit support. Our technical staff is experienced with SOX requirements and our infrastructure, applications and business processes are designed to support SOX and other similar controls.
Have you been audited by a third party?
Yes. We have gone through multiple audits of both our application platform, internal business processes and overall security audits. Many of our clients are public companies, government entities or financial services organizations. As a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider our hosting environment becomes part of our customers’ business and is therefore subject to review.
When choosing vendors and partners to work with we also perform audits and reviews to ensure they meet the same standards we follow. Our data center provider, which is a core element of our business, undergoes annual SAS 70 Type II audits and has also been through third-party audits at our direction.
What kind of security controls do you have in place?
Over the last 12 years, INgage Networks has developed a very detailed and effective approach to security. Our development teams follow both industry best practices as well as specific internal requirements that ensure not only a secure application, but also proper data access controls in our shared environments. Our infrastructure goes through regular security reviews and we use only enterprise class security devices to ensure that we can handle high volumes of traffic while maintaining effective network security.
Please explain your SaaS (software as a service) environment. Do you offer private clouds?
Our solutions are primarily delivered through a virtualized cloud. As adoption rates demonstrate, SaaS-based cloud computing is ideally suited for most commercial and government agencies due to its lower cost of ownership and ease of deployment. However, enterprises that are subject to strict regulations (finance, health care, and many government agencies) may prefer our private cloud option, which enables enterprise customers to gain the benefits of SaaS within an environment tailored to meet their unique security requirements and provide complete separation from our other clients.
Please describe the general security of your SaaS environment.
INgage Networks hosts its web-based services with a Tier-4 Internet Service Provider, AT&T, at our Orlando Data Center. AT&T provides the physical environment necessary to keep our servers up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These world-class facilities are custom designed with raised floors, HVAC temperature control systems with separate cooling zones, and seismically braced racks. They offer the widest range of physical security features, including:
Within the AT&T facilities, we are able to deliver the highest levels of security and reliability through a number of redundant subsystems, such as multiple fiber trunks from multiple sources, fully redundant power on the premises, and multiple backup generators. The result is a physical and technical environment affording our customers the reliability and flexibility necessary to outsource their mission-critical Internet operations.
Do you have an API?
Yes. Even though we offer fully-featured solutions, there are times when customers need to extend our technology beyond the base feature set. We accomplish this by building APIs to support exactly what the customer needs. Some customers have used their APIs to integrate our platform with other systems such as business intelligence or CRM systems, to syndicate content externally, and to build fully-featured mobile applications that complement the online user experience. Our platform also provides a robust library of RSS feeds that can be used to retrieve the latest contributions for community content such as blog posts, media collections/files, and discussion forums.
How does your system authenticate users?
When using our product, authenticated members have access to a broader array of features and services. Members are authenticated by providing their username and password, or they can use credentials from other sources such as Facebook and Twitter.
If I have an existing system with web logins, how does a community integrate with this?
Our solutions can be customized to integrate with your existing registration system and member database.
Also, our solutions can be customized to provide a Single Sign-On (SSO) experience for your users. With this option, we can automatically detect authenticated users so that they are not required to sign on separately to our platform.
What options do I have for moderating user generated content?
Our solutions give you the ability to choose the level of moderation that’s right for your organization. For example, administrators may choose to review and approve comments/content prior to publishing, or publish immediately without requiring approval.
What are the benefits of SaaS (software as a service)?
The primary benefits of SaaS can be summarized by the following five benefits:
-
Cost-effective –
Our SaaS solutions have a predictable cost structure. The annual license fee includes software, enterprise hosting, analytics, ongoing support – with no hidden monthly fees that are typically associated with on-premise models that require server purchases, installations or usage-based costs.
-
Innovative – Our teams continually study industry trends and customer needs to keep our product roadmap at the forefront of the industry. The SaaS model ensures you have the opportunity to remain cutting-edge as well, without risk of being stuck with obsolete technology.
-
Hosted – Enterprise hosting means your data is secure, without bandwidth and/or storage limitations. Our world-class hosting centers are monitored 24/7 and have met stringent requirements for customers such as the Department of Defense and major financial institutions.
-
Scalable – Standardized, scalable and secure physical infrastructure with multiple levels of redundancy gives you the ability to easily expand to meet growing demands.
-
User-centric approach ensures ease of use for both you and your end customer. Rather than getting bogged down with technical/maintenance duties, you can instead focus on achieving your business goals.
